Dedicated and commissioned by clarinetist Raul Traver-Castelló and the Joven Orquesta Provincial de Málaga. The soloist asked me to include some passages with klezmer melodies, either original or not. So, after listening a lot of these melodies, I decided to focus on the them "Come in Peace" by Manny Katz, made popular among the clarinet world by Argentinian clarinet player Giora Fiedman. The song has basically two themes, which simplicity and beauty invite to contemplation and relaxation. I made up this concerto by varying constantly these two tunes, melodically, rhythmically and harmonically, giving a general atmosphere of calm, as the original theme does.
